How to learn the map of Asia

Asia is huge, so the practical way to learn it is by subregion. Begin with East Asia—Japan, Taiwan, the Koreas and China—then connect Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. Large recognizable shapes such as India and the Arabian Peninsula create strong anchors.

Island and peninsula geography matters here. Japan and the Philippines are island groups; Korea is a peninsula; Vietnam follows the eastern edge of mainland Southeast Asia. YAYTAP introduces familiar countries early so the full Asia map grows from recognizable reference points instead of appearing all at once.
